H.E.L.P. Team & friends travelling to Lo Manthang and Yara

Dharma & Karma are since the 16th of april 2011 in Kathmandu, Nepal, finishing up preparation work for a journey organized in cooperation with ISHTAR™ to Lo Manthang und Yara.

The team and friends will visit Yara and get to know its population and the situation on site.

In cooperation and the support of ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) the team and ACAP’s engineer will make all measurements, draw up plans and make all calculations aswell as the budget for phase 1 of the project.

H.E.L.P. is still looking for companies, private persons or any NGO ready to support our project financially and/or working on site.

Whoever is knowledgable in the fields of alternative energies, waterpumps, waste disposal, etc. is more than welcome to share any knowledge with us.

We are also looking for people from the medical field willing to spend one or two months per year in Upper Mustang, helping on site.

We will inform on this website about all the steps and progress of the project, in word and pictures.

"Help Ensures Life & Prosperity" is what we really believe in. While travelling for a great many years, we have never encountered the so called „Third World“. Our vision is "One World" united and cared for by all the people of all the different cultures in the spirit of "One Heart".

We wish for donors who will support our projects consciously and joyfully, who will thereby be part of a unified humanity helping and protecting our planet and all its sentient beings, bringing affluence and prosperity to everyone.

These coming years the focus of our work is in a particular and remote region of Nepal. This country lies in the northern part of the Indian subcontinent. Its neighbors are two developed countries, China in the north and India in the east, west and south.

After existing as a kingdom for centuries with its people living in serfdom, a decade long civil war led to the abolition of the monarchy. Today Nepal is still going through disturbances while trying to establish itself as a democratic country. Nepal is marked by poverty, illiteracy, a poor and next to non-existent health system and an extremely low standard of living.

Widespread corruption and the struggle for power was already during the monarchy the maybe greatest hinderance for real development in this wonderful country and for its wonderful people. Unfortunately this has not yet really changed.

The initiator and founder of H.E.L.P, Dharma C.S. Schertenleib has spent several decades in Asia.

For many years he has been living with the local people, particularly in Nepal and India . By sharing their way of life he knows the local customs, the „system“ with its influences and excesses.

It was Dharma‘s decision not to build H.E.L.P.’s aidprojects upon „support“ by the government of Nepal.

Instead of working with the government, H.E.L.P wants to cooperate directly with local communities, as far as this is legally possible.

Progress, if there is any at all, is still mostly restricted to the valley of Kathmandu, some of the bigger cities in Nepal or to projects initiated by or in favour of the ruling elite.

People and places far from the Kathmandu valley are only considered for political reasons before and during elections. These are the times when those people are promised everything under the sun - only without that the promising politicians really walk their talk - and therefore without ever receiving any real help at all.

These regions we consider being in need of our attention and support.

This shall ensure that donations are not vanishing into the system of the governmental apparatus. in this way your support and help will reach the project, the families and villages fast, directy and without any red tape.

On a personal level Dharma has already run several projects on a smaller scale.

This project though will have more and far-reaching consequences. In order to finance and realize this project the founding of H.E.L.P. was most imperative.

We hope that our vision and commitment will appeal to many people. We wish that everyone reading this will support H.E.L.P. to improve the living conditions of a whole region in the Himalayas and their inhabitants.

This project in Yara, which we hope to be a model for more similar projects all over the “Kingdom of Lo”, is a big project needing all the support possible.
