H.E.L.P. Team & friends travelling to Lo Manthang and Yara

Dharma & Karma are since the 16th of april 2011 in Kathmandu, Nepal, finishing up preparation work for a journey organized in cooperation with ISHTAR™ to Lo Manthang und Yara.

The team and friends will visit Yara and get to know its population and the situation on site.

In cooperation and the support of ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) the team and ACAP’s engineer will make all measurements, draw up plans and make all calculations aswell as the budget for phase 1 of the project.

H.E.L.P. is still looking for companies, private persons or any NGO ready to support our project financially and/or working on site.

Whoever is knowledgable in the fields of alternative energies, waterpumps, waste disposal, etc. is more than welcome to share any knowledge with us.

We are also looking for people from the medical field willing to spend one or two months per year in Upper Mustang, helping on site.

We will inform on this website about all the steps and progress of the project, in word and pictures.

Lama NagwangH.E.L.P is working closely together with Lama Nagwang Kunga Bista. He is a modern and very open-minded Buddhist monk.

He and Dharma share very similar visions which complement and complete one another. They have known each other since 2003 and in 2009 they have decided to join their powers and resources for the benefit of the whole.

Together with and sponsored by the Swiss charity „Himalaya‘s children“ Lama Nagwang founded the first school open to girls and boys in Upper Mustang. The purpose of this school, called “Great Compassion Boarding School”, is to enable all children, and girls in particular, to receive a good general education fully respecting the local culture. Now this is possible without having to leave the country.

Lama Nagwang is relentless in his work for the people of Mustang. It is above all that he wishes to offer a better future tot he children .

He has therefore also founded the „Lo-Mustang-Foundation“ (LMF), which is a non-profit organisation with the aim to create with the locals, but mainly with people all around the world, an interest in Mustang and its progress in areas such as health, hygiene, education, tourism and environment.

H.E.L.P uses LMF as a vessel to work directly and in a straightforward way with the people and local councils in order to help and support unbureaucratically.

East meets West - for all the best

It would be impossible for H.E.L.P. to realize the projects and organize and handle the logisitcs for our journeys to the Himalayas and in particular to Lo Manthang without experienced support in Nepal.

Thanks to Dharma’s & Karma’s old friends Resham Bal & Gobhardan Basnet, their seasoned expertise and their company Trek Nepal Intl., we are in the lucky position to have exactly the right people on our side.

Resham Bal has been accompanying Dharma on all his journeys of research through the “Forbidden Kingdom Of Lo”, Upper Mustang. He also has been and still is of invaluable help as a interpreter and liasion person whenever needed.
